Jazz photography from the Earshot Jazz Festival in Seattle.

The 2013 Earshot Jazz Festival launched on Tuesday Oct 1 with two shows. At BENAROYA HALL, 2,000+ fans watched Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock, Jack DeJohnette. At TULA’S in Belltown was Industrial Revelation with D’Vonne Lewis, widely regarded as the best drummer in Seattle,  bassist Evan Flory-Barnes, Rhodes pianist Josh Rawlings and trumpeter Aham Oluo. They put on a through epic, improvised jam. They were both formidable performances. Here are pictures from Industrial Revelation since Keith Jarrett is camera shy.

The Earshot Jazz Festival is in its 25th year and started October 1 and continues through November 17, 2013, with more than 60 distinctive concert events in venues all around the city. The Earshot Jazz organization is Seattle’s major ambassador of jazz music – presenting jazz masters and important new artists, supporting the local scene, and educating young and old about the joys of jazz.
