Two-term Seattle City Councilman Tim Burgess is running for Mayor in 2013
Two-term Seattle City Councilman Tim Burgess was the first to announce his candidacy for Mayor last November and his campaign seems to be going well. I photographed him recently at his home and was warmly welcomed by him and his family. I wish him all the best in his bid for mayor this fall.

On The Beach

Girl alone on the beach
Portrait of Claire on the beach in Oregon.

One more recent family portrait for the end of year holidays. I have been getting quite a few assignments for holiday portraits and it is a lot of fun to work with different families. The Strassburgers are a blast to work with. Both Mike and Anna work in creative fields and were great to photograph with their daughters. Special thanks to Michael Craft for his help with the studio and lighting.

Recently published was this photograph taken on assignment for the Lakeside School magazine of Olympic gold medal winner Ed Ferry. Ed was a graduate of Lakeside in 1959, and then went of to Stanford University. In 1964, Ed and his Stanford University crew coach Conn Findley won the gold medal in coxed pairs at the 1964 Summer Olympic games in Tokyo. It was a pleasure to meet and photograph Ed.

Trees By The Sea

I have always loved this stand of trees at Golden Gardens beach. We were there on Sunday for the wedding of a good friend. It is a beautiful place for a wedding when the weather cooperates as it did last weekend.

Editorial Portait

I had the pleasure of shooting an assignment for a publication of Lakeside recently.  They needed a portrait of Seattle executive Craig Stewart, president and a trustee of the Apex Foundation, a private family foundation of Jolene and Bruce McCaw with a focus on children, families and education, for an article in their upcoming issue. I always enjoy these assignments an getting the chance to meet such interesting people.

So this weekend spring finally seemed to arrive after a very wet winter. Discovery Park was grand fun for family and dogs.

I made a portrait of Mo;y and Alice when Molly when she was 9 months pregnant on a Sunday and then the next Tuesday the Harper came arrived into the world. Now that she just turned 2. I got to photograph them all again. Harper loves playing “Where’s the baby” with me. What a sweet child.

Another recent assignment this time to photograph George Carofino and his wife Dianne. We were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny day so we headed out to the beach at Carkeek  Park. It turned out to be very clear so we got the Olympic Mountains to show up behind them. Also made a few images of their son Brad and his family on the beach
