We are however still attached to the albums featured on this web site and so we are keeping them here for you to see. Comparing the old and new is always interesting. Daniel used to be primarily a black and white shooter, because he preferred to control the printing in his own darkroom, and in the early days, digital prints were unstable and subject to fading. The photographs on this site were all shot on film, mostly black and white, and are beautiful. As digital photography has moved along, the stability of digital printing inks and paper has finally caught up to black and white silver prints and in most case are a match to their beauty. Nostalgia aside, digital photography means freedom of choice between color and black and white, as well as freedom from having to change a roll of film every 36 images - which can be a bother when beautiful moments happen fast and often. Still, black and white film photography remains an art in its own right and will never lose its appeal.
